Two Strangers in the Eternal City: Border Thinking and Individualized Emerging Rituals as Anti-Patriarchal Epistemology

This paper is a work of autoethnography in which I (the author) observe critical practices that and my colleague, Aisha, thought, said, embodied during our tenure as the only Muslim Nostra Aetate Fellows at St. Catherine Center for Interreligious Dialogue Vatican City, Italy. The focuses on survival strategies took an interreligious anti-patriarchal character within interreligious, Muslim–Christian encounters. framework border thinking, theorized by Maria Lugones Gloria Anzaldúa, concept emerging rituals proposed Ronald Grimes, will serve analytical tools to understand practices. argue thoughts practices, seen from lenses represent anti-patriarchal, epistemology questions deconstructs hegemonic presence patriarchal Catholic praxis around us specific context.
